SAP Officially Qualifies Extend Technologies’ HCM Payroll Solution

Date: 8 Mar 2010

An ‘Australian First'

Extend Technologies, a SAP Gold Channel Partner, announced today that the company's HCM Payroll Solution has been qualified by SAP. The pre-built Human Capital Management (HCM) solution is exclusive to Extend Technologies and is the first SAP HCM Payroll solution to be qualified for the Australian market. It delivers ready to run SAP HR/Payroll in four key process areas: Workforce Management, Workforce Time Management, Workforce Payroll Administration and Workforce Reporting.

"Essentially, we developed the HCM solution to give smaller to mid size organisations the opportunity to implement the world's leading software for Human Resources quickly and at low cost," says Extend Technologies' Line of Business Manager for HCM, Daire O'Mochain. "What's exciting for us is to be able to deliver that type of functionality and value to companies that before now might have opted for an inferior product owing to perceived budget constraints."

The HCM Payroll Solution enables customers to implement fully configured SAP HR/Payroll functionality in 50 per cent of the time compared to traditional implementations. "We have prebuilt about 90 percent of any particular company's payroll requirement so we can easily identify and fill the gap. We are then able to roll out a customer's solution within a very short timeframe," says O'Mochain.

This ‘pre-built' approach allows early adoption of value adding SAP HCM functionality, providing further ROI for businesses, including reducing administration and transaction costs by as much as 50 per cent. The solution also contains a wide range of user focused process and training material, data conversion tools, detailed project plans and test scripts. "It's the complete HR/Payroll package to ensure a successful implementation," says O'Mochain.

With fully up-to-date organisation structure and employee data in the system, companies can enjoy the two most essential components of efficient Human Capital Management. "By making it easier, cheaper and faster to implement the core SAP HCM functionality, businesses now have the foundation from which to access and take advantage of the most recent leading edge functionality within SAP," says O'Mochain.

Businesses will also benefit from cross module integration as the HCM Payroll Solution is just one module of the larger HCM suite. "One set of employee data is used by several different modules of the HCM suite, including the payroll area, so it's all interlinked," says O'Mochain. For example, employees can use the SAP self-service functionality, log on and download their payslip, check superannuation and update personal details, thereby reducing HR administration costs dramatically. Queries to HR personnel can also be reduced as project and resource managers can search for staff with the skills and competencies needed to resource their upcoming projects.

The Solution is also very robust in terms of compliance and audit ability. "Every change made to an employee's data is logged, including the username who made the change and the time and date of the change, thereby providing a fully auditable data history over the full lifecycle of that employee," says O'Mochain. This feature's retrospective capability also allows backdating of data with automatic recalculation of the payroll and, where necessary, retrospective corrections to the financial postings.

Additionally, SAP qualified solutions must be re-qualified yearly so customers are further guaranteed that the product is being monitored by SAP on an ongoing basis. "Customers recognise the value of a solution that not only has been developed by an experienced team of payroll experts, but also one that SAP has reviewed and assessed very carefully before giving the tick of approval," says O'Mochain.
